What we collect

To create an account: your name, email address, and a securely hashed password (we never store your actual password, password_hash() one-way hashes it before it touches the database). To use the product: the workspaces, tasks, and comments you create.

Why we collect it

Your email verifies you're a real person, lets you log back in, and is where we send a one-time code if you ever need to reset your password. Task and workspace data is the actual product, it's how the board, dashboard, and progress overview work. We don't collect anything beyond what the features on this page need.

Cookies & local storage

Groupsync doesn't use third-party trackers or advertising cookies. We use your browser's local storage to remember your light/dark mode and accent color choice on that device, and a session cookie to keep you signed in.

Who sees your data

Members of a workspace can see the tasks and comments in that workspace, that's the point of a shared board. We don't sell or share your data with advertisers or third parties. It's a school project, not an ad-supported service.

How it's stored

Everything lives in a MySQL database on the app's hosting. Passwords are hashed, not encrypted-and-reversible, nobody, including whoever maintains the app, can look up your actual password. A password-reset code is single-use and expires after 5 minutes.

Your choices

You can ask to have your account and associated data deleted at any time by contacting us below.
